The history, scenery and ambiance of Georgia’s First City attract filmmakers from around the world. Savannah has been the location for over 87 movies. There are over 110 movie locations in the Historic District alone.

Among the movies filmed in Savannah are, to name just a few, Cape Fear (1962), Roots (1976), Glory (1989), Forrest Gump (1994), Something to Talk About (1995), Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil (1997), The Legend of Bagger Vance (2000), The Conspirator (2010), Baywatch (2017), and Gemini Man and The Poison Rose (2019).

If you’re a film buff and would like to touch Hollywood, tours of movie locations are available year around and are great fun for all ages. You’ll be able to see the bus stop bench location where Forrest Gump said, “Life is like a box of chocolates.” Hear the behind-the-scenes stories of the Mercer-Williams House from Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. You will also learn some behind-the-scenes trivia about how and where the stars spent their personal “downtime,” such as at the Six Pence Pub from Something to Talk About.

Trolley tours that conduct overview tours of Savannah also include the some movie set locations in their excursions.
