The Harbour Town Lighthouse was built in 1970 and is now the iconic image of Hilton Head Island. As you climb the 114 steps to the top of the lighthouse, see genuine artifacts and photographs documents the Island’s history and development. Listen closely to hear fun facts about the area’s wildlife.

Last year the Lighthouse became an official Coast Guard Museum and features a 16-foot hand-built scale model of the cutter “Eagle,” a historic 295-foot seagoing classroom for Coast Guard cadets.

Pick up a souvenir at the Shoppe At The Top. Walk our wrap-around balcony for breathtaking views and spectacular sunsets, and don’t forget to wave to friends and family on our live webcam.

The Maritime Gift Galley, a ground floor nautical shop and bookstore , is where you can browse antique treasures to pass down for memories that endure. Don’t miss their old-time photo booth.

The Lighthouse is open seven days a week year-round from 10 a.m. to sundown. Modest admission, and children 5 and under are free.
