With an ensemble numbering more than 70 professional musicians, the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra brings quality symphonic music to Hilton Head.
Their 34th season runs from October, 2014 through May, 2015 and features their highly regarded Concert Series.
Lead by newly-appointed Principal Conductor John Morris Russell, performances are held in the spacious sanctuary of the First Presbyterian Church, located at 540 William Hilton Parkway (US 278, between Mile Markers 5 & 6). All concerts begin at 8:00 p.m.
The Orchestra also sponsors the renowned Hilton Head International Piano Competition (843-842-5880).
A popular spring event held every April is their ‘Symphony Under the Stars,’ a picnic and festival pops concert outdoors at Honey Horn Plantation, located at 70 Honey Horn Drive at the north end of the Cross Island Expressway. The picnic begins at 6:00 p.m. with the concert starting at 7:30 p.m.
