Are your kids bored? Head over to The Sandbox, a fun interactive children’s museum and the area’s only hands-on activity center for children.
This 2,500-square foot facility offers over 11 exhibits with play centers designed especially for those eight years old and under, including infants and toddlers.
Experience the Loggerhead Sandcastle, the Flight Deck, the Builders of Tomorrow Exhibit, the Island Grocery, and the ship “The Adventure,” where kids can dress up as pirates and hop aboard William Hilton’s ship. There is so much more.
The Sandbox Children’s Museum, a non-profit organization, has two locations: 18A Pope Avenue, two blocks off the Sea Pines Circle behind St. Andrew by the Sea United Methodist Church (but they will be moving in 2021 to Celebration Park, 94 Pope Avenue, in the Coligny Circle area), and in Bluffton at Tanger 2 Shopping Center.
Check their website at thesandbox.org for current hours. There is an admission charge for each visitor over 12 months old. Annual passes are also available.
