Give your youngsters the vacation memory of a lifetime: find a real mermaid in the wild! Just picture their faces when she swims right up to the boat to join them on their voyage.
Not many places offer such a magical way of learning about an area’s ocean ecology. This mermaid, Nina, is very knowledgeable as well as entertaining. She has even written children’s books about how to protect the ocean, why it is important to do so, and what you can do to help.
These tours are based around Mermaid Nina’s book, The Mermaid of Hilton Head: The Mermaid’s Friend. Two tours are available: The Mermaid Encounter Tour, an exciting and fun-filled journey appropriate for families and children age 12 and under; and the Mermaid Ocean Encounter Tour, great for older kids. Both engaging adventures focus around protecting our oceans, Hilton Head’s wildlife, and of course, what it’s like to be a mermaid. At the end of each cruise, Nina’s new friends earn the Ocean Ambassador Badge to take home with them.
Tours are conducted on a covered boat with bench seating, last about 75 minutes, and are offered seasonally (even mermaids have trouble with winter waters). Adults must accompany their children on both cruises.
