Company Description:

The Sea Turtle Patrol is comprised of volunteers whose mission is to protect Hilton Head’s local sea turtle population, promote the existence of these endangered species, and to spread awareness of their struggle through public education and outreach.

Under the direction of the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, the patrol monitors the island’s beaches for sea turtle nesting and hatching activity annually, May through October.

The patrol is assisted by Turtle Trackers of Hilton Head Island, a volunteer organization that helps educate the public on how to protect sea turtles, and assist with the preservation efforts for endangered sea turtles nesting on Hilton Head Island.

The Sea Turtle Patrol offers free Turtle Talks every Monday in June, July and August, at the Lowcountry Celebration Park (94 Pope Avenue). You will learn about sea turtle nesting on Hilton Head and how you can help protect this endangered species.  Talks will be held rain or shine.
